What is Psychoanalysis?

Psychoanalysis is based on the understanding that unconscious processes profoundly shape how we perceive, think, feel and act.

Psychoanalytic therapy offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our inner experience. Together, we explore what may lie behind distressing emotions, recurring difficulties or symptoms. This understanding can help us cope with current challenges, bring about lasting change in deeply rooted patterns and lead a life with a greater sense of agency.

As unconscious processes become conscious, we gain greater inner freedom: the freedom to develop in ways that feel true to who we are, to strengthen our capacity for fulfilment and meaningful achievement, and to build more autonomous and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others.
